Yakshagana Kendra

Interested students are selected after an interview for training of one year duration.It is a residential school where the teachers and the students are taught to live together in the Gurukula system.Training inYakshagana is an allround training including make up,costume designing,costume repair,dance and bhagavaths.
Training in Yakshagana dance and Music is imparted to young enthusiasts.The Yakshagana Kendra has also been running a professional Yakshagana dance ensemblecalled Yakshaganafor the promotion of Yakshagana as a theatre art.It has the credit of presenting Yakshagana performances in almost all countries of the world in several performance tours.
A new Complex called "Shivaprabha" has come up in the venue of Yakshagana Kendra with extra amenities and facilities for residents, teachers and guests.
The demand for trained artistes is so great that the trainees of Yakshagana Kendra get absorbed into professional Yakshagana troupes as soon as the training course is over
